02 Apr Some kind words from our beautiful couples
What were the reasons for choosing Forget Me Not as the venue for your special day?
Trish: We were lucky to visit a number of amazing venues in Byron Bay with Che from Byron Bay Weddings. When we drove down the long driveway at Forget Me Not, we both had the biggest grins on our faces and knew it was the one! It is such a special place. The owner Jo puts so much love and energy into it; the gardens are just incredible and there is a picture perfect view everywhere you look. Jo is a tireless and generous host and seemed just as invested in making our wedding perfect as we were. We also loved the flexibility of ceremony location, decorations and reception structure.

Hi Jo,
You guys did such an amazing job pulling our day together for us. It was beautiful and everyone has said it was the best wedding they have attended. Everyone was relaxed and in awe of how beautiful your property is. Thank you again for sharing your home with us for our special day.

Hollie Azzopardi’s Blog – Our Perfect Day
‘Trent and I always knew we wouldn’t get married in Sydney. Although we have both lived here our whole lives, at the core of it, it ain’t our vibe. It didn’t take long after our engagement for us to settle on Byron Bay. Having visited countless times together, with family, and on our own – I call it my soul home – it just made SENSE having it there.
We took ourselves off to the Byron Bay Weddings venue open day in January 2017.
Three venues in to the day, and we stepped onto Forget Me Not. Within 10 seconds I turned to Trent and said “this is the one”.
When you know, you know. I had goosebumps and just wanted to cry (happy tears of course!)
Meeting the venue owner and INCREDIBLE wedding planner Jo was just the icing on the cake. She was so warm and lovely and welcoming, it felt right straight off the bat.
We humoured ourselves by going off to see the other venues, but after viewing two more we stopped the search.
This was it.
It just felt MAGIC. We knew we would get married down by the pond. The row boat was total ‘The Notebook’ vibes, and we were given the option of tipis, sperry tent or marquee. I wasn’t going to budge with tipis. We are a super relaxed couple and wanted our wedding celebrations to reflect that. I don’t know if you can get more laid back than barefoot in tipis overlooking a picturesque farm under fairy lights!
Oh, and the pond has a resident turtle. Just saying.
The venue was also great as it was a total blank canvas, allowing us to do whatever we liked to it. It was very much a DIY experience which was fun and stressful all in one, especially as our wedding was away from home. Thankfully the venue also provided wedding planning services a month out from the wedding. We had two planners the night of, including the wonderful Jo who knows the property back to front (it is because of her we got our brilliant horse shots! More on that later!) – so we didn’t have to worry about a THING!’ Read Hollies Blog for information of her day including her suppliers.

Forget Me Not felt cosy and quaint yet vast and breathtaking. It had an epic driveway entrance too! They also had cool saloon-style accommodation for the boys to stay in leading up to the wedding – fire pit, bar, pool table, arcade games. It was awesome and Jo was very accommodating.
